At the age of 15, while working in a lumber yard, a 480 lb load fell on Dr. Baker’s head. He was crushed to the ground and woke up in a hospital some time later with no feeling in his legs and no bladder control. After several hours of evaluation and tests he was told “he has to have surgery or he would never walk again.” A nurse convinced his grandfather to bring him to her chiropractor before surgery. Carried to the car, carried into the chiropractor’s office and walked out of the chiropractor’s office within an hour.
The rest is history. At the age of 15 Jon Baker committed his life to being a chiropractor and changing lives. Ten years later at the age of 25 he graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1985. One month later he was practicing in Modesto, California. His practice grew at a phenomenal pace and he had his first associate in place six months later. Then he started growing his satellite clinics and opened nine more within the next six years.
Then the requests for help and questions of “How do you do it” started piling up. So Dr. Baker started a seminar business and shared his systems with all who wanted to know while maintaining his chiropractic clinics. In a short period of time he realized that the seminars were not enough to get people to replicate his systems and he started one on one coaching
The one on one coaching went phenomenally well and in just a few years there were several “Baker Taught D.C.’s” running multiple Clinics and having a good time.

While studying at San Jose State University and working at UPS a bad back injury set the course for the rest of Dr. Hans’ life. A lifting injury caused two discs to herniate in his lower back rendering him not able to stand, sit or walk. After refusing the recommended surgery a chiropractor was the only one able to help. Within two years he had entered chiropractic school himself.
Mentored by a few of the great Gonstead chiropractors in the Bay area Dr. Hans opened his first practice in Fremont, California in 1995. The practice grew fast and served lots of patients yet still left him with a longing to do more. “I wanted to serve more people, make more money, work less hours and have more fun.” That’s what drew him to Dr. Jon Baker and New Beginnings in 2000. “Finally a system that allows me to have the practice and life of my dreams while helping other chiropractors to have theirs.”
Since then Dr. Hans has grown his main chiropractic clinic to be one of the largest in the Bay Area, and he has opened three highly successful satellite offices and coached more than 20 chiropractors to do the same. He joined New Beginnings as a coach in 2007. Today he specializes in helping others grow high volume, highly profitable practices and creating multiple satellite clinics.
Dr. Hans is married to his wife Sharon and they have two beautiful daughters. In his free time he enjoys hiking, boating, skiing, coaching “his girls” basketball teams, and spending time travelling with his family and friends.
Dr. Martin was introduced to chiropractic at a young age. At the age of 6, Dr. Martin’s father injured his low back in an industrial accident. The medical doctor recommended surgery, but due to a surgical waiting list, he was forced to wait six weeks for the operation. In the meantime, his back pain was unbearable. While still on crutches, his dad hobbled into a chiropractor’s office. As he continued chiropractor care, his health improved. He no longer needed the surgery for which he was scheduled. Through the detection and correction of subluxation, his Dad was able to get the care he needed and regain his health. From that moment, Dr. Martin’s entire family became life long users of chiropractic. This experience made such a difference in Dr. Martin’s life that he went to chiropractic school, graduating from Western States Chiropractic College in 1997.
Dr. Martin was referred to New Beginnings and Dr. Jon Baker in 2000. He became inspired to expand his dream to a grander scale. Dr. Martin is committed to living life serving a bigger purpose, serving mankind, and making this world a better place through chiropractic.
Dr. Martin firmly believes that all chiropractors have the capability to improve people’s health with the detection and correction of subluxation. It is time that chiropractors start getting paid appropriately for all of their contributions in society’s healthcare.
For the past 15 years, Dr. Martin has served families throughout the Bay Area with 3 highly successful offices. He works 3 days a week in his main clinic and manages 2 satellite offices. As part of his lifestyle he enjoys 6-8 weeks vacation with family, friends, and as an avid outdoor enthusiast.
